Un gruppo di pistoleri senza arte né parte – composto da Walter Chiari, Raimondo Vianello e Ugo Tognazzi – viene assoldato per difendere la popolazione oppressa da un crudele dittatore. Grazie alla loro furbizia riusciranno a mettersi in salvo, e a fidanzarsi con tre belle ragazze.

Parodia de I magnifici sette (di John Sturges), uscito l’anno precedente, il film non ha particolari ambizioni, e fa leva su battute d’effetto, oltre che su numeri consolidati di varietà. Il pubblico tuttavia ama vedere gli attori più popolari del momento riuniti in un irresistibile trio.

A group of inept gunslingers–Walter Chiari, Raimondo Vianello and Ugo Tognazzi– are hired to defend a population which is oppressed by a cruel dictator. Thanks to their cunning, they reach safety and get engaged to three beautiful girls.

A parody of The Magnificent Seven (by John Sturges, released the previous year), the film is not ambitious. It relies on punchlines, and presents a range of (theatrical) variety numbers. Contemporary audiences, however, enjoyed seeing the most popular actors of the moment joined together in this irresistible trio.
